Karan Sharma

Karan Sharma

Mr. Karan Sharma enrolled as an external PhD candidate at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität in 2023 and currently holds the position of Team Lead for AI Services at Agile Robots AG in Munich. His primary focus at Agile has been on Deep Learning-based Computer Vision (DLCV) solutions for Robotics, which has recently shifted towards the application of Large Models in Robotics.

Before joining Agile Robots, he was a researcher at the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics, German Aerospace Center (DLR) for close to a decade, where he started his research career with a focus on trajectory planning and human safety analysis of Robotic Motion Simulators. His research domain then shifted from human safety to human experience, guiding him from “classical” robotics to Machine Learning and its applications in Emotion AI.

Below, you’ll find some selected contributions/publications in DLCV, Robotics, and Emotion AI.
