Adrian Joined joined the AIROB lab in July 2026 as a doctorate candidate.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Guadalajara and a Master of Science in Medical Engineering from the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). His academic work has centered on machine learning and deep learning, predictive modeling of human gait, and the processing of biomedical signals and images. In his Master's Thesis, he developed an autoencoder-based algorithm for the decomposition of intramuscular EMG signals from a single electrode, envisioned as a strategy for orthoses and prosthetic control.

His PhD research focuses on the control of lower-limb prostheses through the fusion of electromyographic (EMG) and biosignal data with complementary sensing modalities such as IMUs and motion capture (MOCAP), aiming to develop more intuitive and responsive prosthetic control strategies.
